“The Occidental Lodge is a very charming, old-school lodge that is well-maintained and absolutely spotless. My favorite part was that there were no smells at all in the room, which I loved!The lodge is located in a tiny, quiet town that I would describe as a micro-country town. “The TV was entirely in German. And there was no way to change the settings to English. I spent 30 minutes trying to change it.”

“The resort was very nice, and the restaurant was very good, selling local oysters. The place is also very quiet. We had almost no interactions with staff and the check-in was through an envelope left for us at the closed office. The pool was closed and there is no hot tub. The place is very remote but great for exploring Point Reyes.”

“Beautiful! Everything was clean, peaceful, tasteful, and easy. A very special place to stay.”

“This was the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed at. When I arrived, after a very long drive, I was not greeted by the staff but instead was given a hand telling me to wait as the staff finish a FaceTime call. The room was picked up and the bed sheets appeared clean was the highlight of this room. The shower floor was filthy and the door to the room was disgusting, dirty! Light switches felt sticky. Our AC semi worked but, every time it kicked on it sounded like a Mac truck was passing by....

The place is extremely run down, a lot of unsavory clientele, no ice bucket, shipping containers and chain link fences with ongoing construction, bed was hard and painful, bathroom in disrepair, the only thing missing was roaches. “Honestly, this is a gem of a hotel. It is located next to an animal hospital that I have to visit once every six months. This is was my first time staying here, but the staff was super accommodating and helpful. The property is perfectly maintained the hotel itself is very clean the rooms are comfy and cozy and overall a very great experience here I will be staying again.”
